Ertugrul INANÇErtugrul (Istanbul, TR) is a musician performing traditional Turkish music genres and a composer who has planted his aesthetics on the tradition he belongs to but writes in a modern manner, making use of every available technique or style. He plays Ud, Ney, Rebab and Recorder, and sings. He has studied Turkish music tradition with masters and taught himself harmony, composition etc. For more on his favorite music and compositions, see his web site.He has been using NoteWorthy Composer not only for notating/sequencing music but for experimenting with sounds, scales, harmonies and acoustics. He has always seen NWC as a "two-in-one": a flexible notation processor + a powerful midi sequencer and tried in his projects to take advantage of both functions. Ertugrul says he owes much of his success in using NWC effectively to the wonderful users community on the newsgroup, the forum and the Scriptorium. He learns many things, shares problems and solutions, submits musical pieces and enjoys a wonderful friendship. He would like to thank Fred Nachbaur especially, who introduced him to the community and whose freeware midi tempering tools have played a primary role in his work. Currently, he's working on a font including accidentals used in non-12tet music, which is hoped to help NWC users in notating such pieces. Ertugrul has also recently submitted a user tip, has always been active in the newsgroup and forum, has submitted many songs and some helpful files to the NoteWorthy Composer Scriptorium. |
