Dominique 'Marsu' Portier

Marsu has been a registered user since 1996. He is a bass singer (former contra-soprano), guitar player and flute player (almost any kind of flute, though his preferred one is the "grand flute", in french "flûte traversière"). As soloist and choir member, he uses NWC to make rehearsal files for himself and other parts, and when working with a quartet finds NWC particularly efficient to transpose scores for their own voice ranges and for printing parts separately or all at once. As an instrument player, he finds NWC is a great help to arrange scores, and is a very patient companion for duet works. Marsu says, "As a (minor) composer I find it really easy and efficient software to enter quickly what I have in mind, using the AZERTY keyboard, sometimes the virtual piano."

Currently, Marsu has been spending most of his NWC time answering forum questions (as you will see in his over 400 postings). As with each release, Marsu really dissected the new features in version 1.75. He wowed fellow users with his tablature creation of Fernando Sor's study and his ability learn all the ins and outs of a new feature and share with others.

Around NWC, he has made a small bi-lingual dictionary for french-speaking users, some macros and has numerous User Tips posted. Marsu is working on a boxmarks2 font, which you will find on the Scriptorium Helpful Files and a calculation tool for swing play back in NWC. In addition he is doing some of his own music publishing and old scores transcription.
