Edit Menu Commands
Most commands available from the edit menu are designed to operate on the active staff of the active window. Many of the commands are only enabled after notation items have been selected in the active staff. Items can be selected by holding down the shift key while moving the insertion point with the mouse or arrow keys. Clicking the left mouse button and dragging the mouse also can be used to select notation items.
The commands available from the edit menu include:
- Undo: Reverses the effect of the last action or command
- Redo: Reverses a previous Undo operation
- Cut: Cuts the selection to the clipboard
- Copy: Copies the selection to the clipboard
- Copy Special: Copies the portion of the selection that fits on screen to the clipboard as a graphic
- Paste: Pastes the contents of the clipboard at insertion point
- Paste as New File: Pastes the contents of the clipboard into a new file
- Clear: Clears the selection (no effect on clipboard)
- Select All: Selects everything in the active staff
- Remove Chord Note: Remove the member of a chord immediately on the left of the insertion point
- Beam: Beams the note flags of the selected notes
- Triplet: Turns the selected notes into a triplet
- Find: Finds the next matching notation element using criteria that you specify
- Find Next: Finds the next matching notation element using criteria specified in a prior Find operation
- Goto: Moves insertion point to the measure you specify
- Lyrics: Opens the lyric editor dialog for this staff
- Filtered Properties: Allows an include/exclude filter to be applied before editing properties
- Properties: Open the properties editor for the current selection
